The artists for the Wednesday Recital of 14th August, 2024, were Shadaj Iyer and Shreya Chatterjee. The first performance was delivered by Shadaj Iyer, a Scholar of the Academy under Vidushi Subhra Guha. He began the recital with a traditional vilambit composition in Raga Miyan Ki Malhar, “Karim nam tero”. This was followed by a drut composition of the Raga set in Teentaal and a tarana composed by Ustad Sharafat Hussain Khan. Shadaj was accompanied by Janab Sarwar Hussain on the Sarangi and Shri Ashoke Mukherjee on the Tabla.
The next artist was Shreya Chatterjee, a Scholar under Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty. Shreya began her performance with a vilambit khayal in Raga Hameer, a traditional composition of the Patiala Gharana. Next, she sang two drut compositions of the Raga set in Jhaptaal and Ektaal. Shreya concluded the recital with a thumri in Maajh Khamaj. She was accompanied by Smt. Rupashree Bhattacharya on the Harmonium and Shri Bivash Sanghai on the Tabla.
