Desh Ek Raag 2.0:

On the occasion of the nation’s 79th Independence Day, ITC Ltd and ITC Sangeet Research Academy collaborated to make Desh Ek Raag 2.0. The video focussed on the Guru-Shishya Parampara which the Academy has been preserving for nearly five decades. The six-minute video featured stalwarts like Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar, Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty, Pandit Uday Bhawalkar, Pandit Partha Chatterjee, Vidushi Subhra Guha, Shri Omkar Dadarkar, Shri Abir Hossain and Shri Brajeswar Mukherjee.

It has also brought together exponents like Pandit Suresh Talwalkar, Dr. Ananda Shankar Jayant, Aditi Mangaldas, Sharmila Biswas and Rama Vaidyanathan to shape its ode to the nation. A unique medley of east and west, the video further showcased a Kolkata-based band, Prithibi. Commenting on the opus, the Executive Director of the Academy, Mr. Saradindu Dutta said, “The Gurus, Musician Tutors and Scholars of the Academy have worked tirelessly under this project’s music director Shri Abir Hossain, a Guru of the Academy, to turn this piece into a fitting tribute to India’s priceless classical music heritage. I hope this ode to the nation will be appreciated across all cross-sections of our society.”
