The country’s 78th Independence Day was celebrated at ITC Sangeet Research Academy on 15th August, 2024. The programme began with a performance by Swastik Basu and Hindola Sinha, both Scholars of the Academy. They improvised on songs like “Vande maataram” and “Sare jahan se accha”.
Next, the National Anthem was played with everyone singing along. The programme was concluded with the flag hoisting ceremony and a speech by Mr. Saradindu Dutta, Executive Director of the Academy. Mr. Dutta spoke about the importance of communal tolerance to live in a society of peace and harmony.
