Shri Paramananda Roy, Musician Tutor at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy, greeted the monsoon with an enchanting Miyan Ki Malhar in his solo performance at the Wednesday Recital, 3rd July. He began the soiree with a composition of the Raga set in Jhaptaal. This was followed by a drut composition in Teental.
Next he played vilambit and drut compositions in Raga Nand, set in Rupak and Ektaal. The drut composition of the Raga was one that had been popularised by Ustad Amir Khan. Paramananda concluded the recital with a composition in Raga Bhairavi set in Addha Taal. He was accompanied by Shri Ashis Paul on the Tabla.
