Aparajita was initiated into the art of vocal music under the able guidance of Late Smt. Renuka Sen, disciple of Pandit Bhishmadev Chattopadhyay of Vishnupur gharana and the grand disciple of Sarangi player Ustad Badal Khan Saheb. She then continued her training under Dr. Mangla Kapoor in Banaras and Dr. Sunita Bhale and Shri Satish Indurkar in Khairagarh.
Captivating her audience with her voice and gayaki, Aparajita has performed all over India. Some of her performances include Sangeet Ganga, Varanasi, Sangeet Sammelan, Titlagarh, Orissa, Durga Kund Mahotsav in Varanasi, “Baithak”, concert at Delhi, Raaging Kala Kendra, Digboi and Malhar Festival, ITC SRA.She hs also been a recipient of many awards and scholarships which includes the National Scholarship from Govt. of India in the vocal music category.
She joined ITC Sangeet Research Academy in 2009 as a scholar, where she was under the tutelage of Padmabhushan Dr. Girija Devi. She has also taken training in khayal gayaki under the guidance of Musician Tutor, Shri Omkar Dadarkar. Aparajita completed her PhD. in 2015 and is currently associated with Delhi Public School, Ranchi.
