The Wednesday Recital
Steve Gorn has performed Indian Classical Music and new American Music on the bansuri bamboo flute in concerts and festivals throughout the world, and is said to be one of the few westerners who has captured the subtle nuances of Indian music. He is a disciple of the late bansuri master, Sri Gour Goswami of Kolkata, and has also studied with the late Ustad Z. M. Dagar. He continues his studies of the bansuri with Pandit Raghunath Seth of Mumbai, who he often accompanies in concert. He has given numerous performances in India for more than a decade and his outstanding musicianship has won him a lot of admirers. Steve has several discs to his credit and is well known in the west for his creative blends of Indian and Western music. This Wednesday Recital session took place on January 28, 2004. Steve was accompanied on the tabla by Anando Gopal Bandopadhyay.
