The musical evening of 22nd April, 2026,
presented two Scholars of the Academy, Srijanee Banerjee and Medha Basu. The
Wednesday Recital began with Srijanee’s performance in Raga Puriya. Accompanied
by Shri Soumen Nandy on the Tabla, she delivered a brief alaap, a vilambit, and
a drut composition in Teental. Srijanee is a Scholar under Pandit Partha Chatterjee.
The next performer was Medha Basu, a Scholar under Shri
Brajeswar Mukherjee and Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty. Medha presented a vilambit in
Raga Kedar, which was followed by a drut composition in the Raga. She concluded
with a dadra in Mishra Pahari. Medha was accompanied by Shri Ashoke Mukherjee
on the Tabla.
